AUCTION AND BIDDING RULES:

Last year we implemented a new bidding system at Club Calf Paradise and it worked very well.  We tested the system extensively prior to the sale and all ran very well with just a few “gliches”.  We appreciate everyone’s patience.  This year I have decided to make a few minor changes with the bidding.  I am of the mind that we can’t be all things to all people but my ultimate goal is to make it as fun and painless as possible.  So with that in mind please read our new updated rules carefully and if you have ANY questions please don’t hesitate to email or call us.  Your questions are a great aid to knowing what other changes need to be made.

Club Calf Paradise is an auction.  You may place initial bids by phone or online at www.clubcalfparadise.com.  These rules will govern the conduct of the auction.  By bidding in the auction, you agree to these terms.
You must be registered to bid before 6:00 P.M.  CDT on September 7. There are three ways to register to bid:

1.     You can register for a bidder number when you stop at Club Calf Paradise to view the calves.  You will complete a bidder number form which gives you a bidder’s number.  On this form you may choose a password for online bidding
2.     You can register online by completing the online registration process. This process will let you choose a password and will give you a bidder number.  Simply follow the directions on the website to bid.  .  **ONLINE BIDDING CAN ONLY BE DONE BEFORE 6:00pm CDT ON SEPTEMBER 7.  YOU CAN INCREASE YOUR BID AT ANYTIME UP UNTIL THAT DEADLINE. 
3.     You may call us by phone prior to 6:00 P.M.  CDT on September 7 and we will register you for a bidder number.
 
Once you have a valid bidder’s number, you can bid on any calf in the auction at anytime either online, in person or by phone until 6:00 P.M.  CDT on September 7.
           
 After 6:00 P.M.  CDT on September 7, Labor Day, (cutoff time) WE WILL CONTACT ALL BIDDERS BY PHONE, INCLUDING INTERNET BIDDEERS. PRIOR TO THE CUTOFF TIME WE WILL PLACE THE CALVES IN BID-OFF ORDER.  THAT ORDER WILL BE LISTED ON THE WEBSITE.  EACH CALF WILL BE ASSIGNED A TIME IN WHICH TO BE BID OFF.  ALL BIDDERS WILL BE CONTACTED BY PHONE AT THAT TIME.  THEY MUST BE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME THEIR CALF IS TO BE BID OFF.  EACH BIDDER WILL TAKE A TURN AT THE BID. ONCE THEY ARE OUT…THEY ARE DONE, BUT THEY HAVE THE OPTION TO JUMP TO ANOTHER CALF.  BIDDER MUST STATE THAT DESIRE AT THE TIME THEY DECLINE BIDDING ON THE CURRENT CALF.

 Our sale order will begin with the calf which has received the most bids prior to the cutoff.  When we call at the designated time we will inform you of the current top bid on the calf and you will have the opportunity to increase your bid to become the new high bidder.  WE WILL HAVE ALL OF THE BIDDERS OF THE CALF CURRENTLY BEING BID OFF ON THE PHONE SIMULTANEOUSLY IN ORDER TO SPEED UP THE BIDDING PROCESS.  BIDS WILL BE TAKEN FROM EACH BIDDER IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY INITIALLY BID AND ROTATED FROM ONE TO THE OTHER UNTIL A LONE TOP BIDDER IS DETERMINED AND THE CALF WILL BE SOLD TO THAT BIDDER! When we call, you must either increase the current top bid or you must exit the auction on that calf.

Everyone may follow the bidding on the internet but after the deadline they will not be able to bid online.  All bidding is strictly confidential and you will only be identified by your bidder number.

There will be no set sale order until the deadline on Labor Day.  The numbers in each calf’s ear is strictly random and for reference use only.  As stated above, the bid off portion of the auction will start with the most actively bid calf.  We will place the final bid order and the time each calf will be bid off online just prior to the end of the sale and contact all active bidders so they will be available for the bid off. 

Bids will be accepted in increments of $100 until the bid reaches $2000.  After a calf reaches $2,000.00 the bidding increment will increase to $250.00.  BIDDERS ARE NOT LIMITED TO $250.00 BID JUMPS.  FOR EXAMPLE, A BIDDER MAY JUMP A CALF FROM $2500.00 TO $3250.00 AS LONG AS THEY STICK TO THE INCREMENTS.

 All bidders must be available by telephone after 6:00 pm CDT on Labor Day.  IF YOU DO NOT ANSWER THE TELEPHONE NUMBERS THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN US, WE WILL HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO PASS YOU OVER.  IF WE CANNOT REACH YOU, WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE OUT OF THE AUCTION!  **IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD FROM US PRIOR TO THE AUCTION TELLING YOU WHAT TIME YOUR CALF IS SELLING YOU CAN ASSUME THAT WE DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER AND YOU SHOULD CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY!!!

If you are a registered bidder and place a bid on any calf before the cut off time, you may bid on any calf until that calf is sold.  If the bidding on your favorite calf goes past your budget, you may bid on any other calf that has not already sold.  If you are bidding on one calf and are interested in another, please inform us of that fact and we will get your bidding transferred over to the other calf as long as it has not already been sold.
 
SALE IN A NUTSHELL
 
1 Bid on your favorite calf prior to 6:00 PM on Monday, September 7. 
a Bid by phone or internet.
b Register for a bidder number.           
2 Follow your calf on the internet. You can see most current bid until 6:00 PM on Labor day.
3 Wait for our call by 6:00 p.m. with sale order and time your calf will sell
4 Answer your phone when we call for the bid off at the designated time!
           
Payment is due immediately at the close of the auction.  CREDIT CARD PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH VISA OR MASTERCARD.  NO CALVES WILL LEAVE THE PREMISES UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN PAID FOR.

PROMPT PAYMENT DISCOUNT** If payment is received within 5 days of the final sale the buyer will receive a discount!!
 
Ownership of each calf passes to the high bidder at the moment a lot is marked “sold” on the website or at the moment we announce the lot as “sold” on the telephone.  If you are the successful bidder, you own the calf.
 
You may pick up your calf at Nelson Cattle Company at any time. Please make arrangements with us before you arrive.      
        
DELIVERY:  FREE delivery to several destinations. Nelson Cattle Company will personally deliver calves to North Texas, Eastern Colorado and Kentucky following the sale if there are a number of calves going that direction.  All hauling will be subject to weather conditions and space available on the trailer.*********
